This book too was a must buy. I really enjoyed Carly Philips' new book 'Brazen'. This is a series put out by Harlequin Books and they are identified by their white background cover with splashes of red and some black.
What I really love about this series is the grandmother who gets the job done for her grandchildren.
In this case, she knows that Grace Montgomery, her granddaughter is living alone and potentially in danger from her naivite. She has been cloistered by her rich family but has suddenly broken free. Her granddaughter is trying to do a photograph shoot with the city's poor people while maintaining a photography job. And while, you can believe that the grandmother needed a P.I., she hand picked and checked out Ben Callahan with a sparkle in her eye.
She sets him up as the neighbor of her granddaughter.
From the first day, he finds out that she really is in trouble. He hadn't expected this, instead he'd thought that her grandmother just hired him because she could. Suddenly, he has to face the fact that he has a job to do and at the same time he is going to have to know Grace to get the job done. And Grace, from the first moment he saw her picture, hit him hard with her sweet looks.
By the time Ben realizes that he has deep feelings for Grace, he is torn by the fact that he needs the money for his mother and he wants just Grace. Time is running out and he's almost sorted out her problems.
This book is a breezy read as is this review.
It's a total five all the way.
More reviews of this series to come.
